Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 August 2026

Seek (“we”, "us") makes a personal prayer app for iPhone. This policy explains exactly what happens to what you share with it.

Not legal advice. This document was drafted to describe the app’s actual behavior accurately. Have a lawyer review it before you publish it, and update it whenever the app’s data handling changes.

The short version

  • Your prayers, journal entries, and photos are stored on your device, not on our servers.
  • We have no accounts and we do not know who you are.
  • To write your prayers, the details you entered during setup are sent to our prayer-generation service and, from there, to Anthropic’s Claude API. Your photos are never sent anywhere.
  • We do not sell your information, show you ads, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

What Seek stores on your device

All of the following is written to Seek’s private storage on your iPhone and stays there unless you choose to share it:

  • The answers you give during setup: your first name, city, age, work and how you feel about it, how you describe yourself, experiences that shaped you, what you’re struggling with, relationship status, the people and children you want to pray for, your priorities, what you’re praying for this season and why, and how you like to spend time with God.
  • Your generated prayers, prayer playlists, and favorites.
  • Your gratitude journal entries and the days you opened the app (used for your streak and garden).
  • Your Wall of Answered Prayers, including any photos you add.
  • Your saved verses, chosen narrator voice, and settings.

Deleting the app removes all of it. You can also erase everything from inside the app at Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account, which is immediate and permanent.

What is sent off your device, and to whom

Prayer generation. When Seek writes a prayer, it sends your setup details (the profile answers listed above) and the topic of the prayer to our prayer-generation service hosted on Supabase, which passes them to Anthropic’s Claude API to compose the prayer. This is the only way your written answers leave your phone.

  • We do not attach your name to an account, because there are no accounts.
  • Anthropic processes the request to generate the response. Anthropic’s API terms provide that API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.
  • We do not retain the prayer text or the profile data on our servers after the request is answered; our service is stateless.
  • Our service records standard technical logs (timestamps, error codes, and IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting).

Photos are never transmitted. Pictures you add to your Wall of Answered Prayers, and your profile photo, stay on your device.

If you turn off or never use prayer generation, and you use the app offline, nothing leaves your device at all — Seek falls back to prayers composed locally on your iPhone.

What we do not do

  • No advertising, ad networks, or ad identifiers.
  • No selling or sharing of personal information with data brokers.
  • No third-party analytics SDKs.
  • No location tracking. (If you enter a city, it is text you typed, not GPS data.)
  • No health data, contacts, calendar, or microphone access.

Permissions Seek asks for

  • Notifications — to send your daily prayer reminder. Optional.
  • Photos / Camera — only when you choose to add a picture. Images never leave your device.

You can change either at any time in iOS Settings.

Subscriptions

Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card details. Apple provides us only with anonymous purchase status so the app knows whether your subscription is active.

Children

Seek is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

Your rights

Because everything is stored on your device and we hold no account, you control your data directly: view it in the app, and delete all of it at Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account or by deleting the app. If you are in a region with statutory data rights (such as the EEA, UK, or California) and want to exercise them regarding server logs, contact us at the address below.

Security

Data on your device is protected by iOS app sandboxing and your device passcode. Requests to our prayer service travel over encrypted HTTPS.

Changes

If we change how Seek handles your information, we will update this page and the “last updated” date, and note significant changes in the app.
